An educator, literary consultant, curriculum & staff development specialist and program developer, Virginia Schroder has over three decades of experience in education. Ms. Schroder has prepared presentations with an emphasis on using poetry throughout the curriculum for a variety of organizations, including the International Reading Association, the New York State Reading Association, Rutgers University Literacy Curriculum Network, and the National Council of Teachers of English.

She was a member of the Steering Committee for the International Reading Association's Teacher's Choice Project, and has served as Language Arts Advisor for Creative Classroom Magazine.

She is the co-author of Three Voices: An Invitation to Poetry Across the Curriculum (Stenhouse, 1995) and a contributing author to Pen In Hand: Children Become Writers (International Reading Association, 1993). Since 1997, she has been a contributor to the Time for Kids Teacher's Guide.
